About Me: The Long Version:
It all began one dark Sunday afternoon where my younger self finished reading a book and rummaged through the house for something new. Flipping from cover to cover, I realized I have already read everything. The library down the block was closed, and I couldn’t bear to reread my favorite novels for the tenth time. So I took a pencil and a paper and vowed to write my own book with no annoying characters or dumb plot events. This will be the tale I’ve always wanted to read. After that moment, I couldn’t stop writing.
As William Faulkner once said, “If a story is in you, it has got to come out.”
I wrote poetry, stories, songs, plays, essays, and journal entries. Keep in mind this began in elementary school. Those writings will never see the light of day because they are pretty bad. Yet I continued to write and improved as I did. Many people assumed I wanted to be a writer when I grew up.
I told them, “I already am a writer. I want to be an author.”
I love science fiction and fantasy, but the first novel I completed is historical fiction, called Lethal Shores. It is the story of three Jewish youths struggling for freedom during the Spanish Inquisition. Lethal Shores was published as a serial in the Toronto Family Magazine, my first publication at the age of 15. Years later, I have redrafted and am currently editing Lethal Shores for book publication.
My other passions including singing, acting, and playing the violin. Of course, I still love to read. Reading is how my journey began.
